Wine Cooler |
![]() |
2000 - This wine cooler uses the moisture-absorbing ability of ceramic. When held under flowing water, the cooler absorbs the water, after which it can be placed over a bottle of wine. Evaporation of the water on the outside creates a natural cooling on the inside of the cooler: an old Roman principle. The shape of the cooler is derived from a standard Bordeaux bottle shape. Originally designed in white clay, and later manufactured by Royal Tichelaar in Makkum in a terracotta version.
